PPS has excellent thermal insulation properties and practically does not absorb moisture. Flaws:

Extruded polystyrene foam

 

It is also used to warm walls from the inside. It is a rigid plate of polystyrene granules, a mixture of gas and a foaming agent. This is a universal insulation that is used for thermal insulation of walls, basements, freezers, high -humidity, etc.

It has low thermal conductivity and is practically not hygroscopic. It is not subject to destruction under the influence of the environment (temperature difference, atmospheric precipitation). Extruded polystyrene foam can be ignited when heated, but when removing the source, fades. When burning, it does not distinguish harmful substances.

Despite all the advantages, extruded polystyrene foam (EPPS) has low vapor permeability, which leads to a poor microclimate in the room. Therefore, during insulation, the ventilation system must be provided.

And with a long stay under direct sunlight begins to collapse and lose its thermal conductive properties. Under ideal operating conditions, the service life does not exceed 30 years.

 

Mineral wool

 

This is an excellent material for insulation of walls inside and outside based on basalt, slag, etc., mineral wool is produced in rolls or plates and has a different density, on which thermal insulation qualities and price depend. Advantages:

Flaws:

  • some types of glass wools contain formaldehyde;

  • it does not cause corrosion. Ecowata is ideal for insulation of metal structures, since it does not provoke the formation of rust;
  • it does not shrink. Due to the elasticity and elasticity of cellulose fibers, Ecowata over time does not shrink even in vertical structures. This is an incomparable advantage over cotton heaters;

Advantages:

  • protects the wall from moisture;
  • easily applied;
  • reducing the heat loss of a room of 1 mm layer increases the temperature of the wall by 3 degrees;
  • ease of repair if necessary;
  • environmental and safe for health;
  • there are no shelters for pests;
  • it is allowed to apply at a temperature of up to 20 degrees;
  • the final cost of thermal insulation is similar to the cost of wall painting;
  • does not increase the load on the walls.

 

Cork wallpapers as a heater for walls

This is environmentally friendly and safe material. They are simultaneously a heater for walls and a decorative coating. But, despite the assurances of manufacturers about good heat-insulating qualities, because of the thin layer they are not effective enough.
