The causes of damage

Since the parquet is made of wood, it absorbs moisture and negatively reacts to temperature changes, so the biggest threat that can spoil your parquet is water and dryness. It should be avoided by a large amount of moisture, even when cleaning. The effects of sunlight can negatively affect your parquet, due to which the parquet may dry out.

With improper laying, much more serious problems may occur, for example, when in contact, even with a small amount of water in certain areas, bloating can occur, and with severe dryness large gaps can form. Therefore, only specialists need to trust the installation of the floor.

In order for your parquet to have increased resistance to moisture, it is necessary to purchase only a high -quality parquet board processed by various special compounds. An important factor is the tree breed used in the manufacture of a parquet board. The floor parquet from beech, ash, grab and oak is the least of these factors. Other woods, such as larch, pine and birch, are deformed much faster, caring for a parquet board made of these materials becomes much more complicated.

Protection

You can protect the parquet from pollution and deformation using an additional coating, for example, a carpet. It should be laid in those places that are most susceptible to wear. The carpet will protect your floor from scuffs, scratches, moisture and other adverse factors. It can also cause significant damage to the parquet in order to avoid this, it is necessary to attach soft steps to the legs of the furniture, which will protect your floor from dent, scratches and much reduce floor wear.

Parquet varnish

There are many different types of varnish Parquet. The first species is a varnish coating based on polyurethane, such a varnish will give your floor a bright and rich tone. Another type of varnish, made using modified polyurethane dispersion or simply water -dispersic, does not affect natural color, but simply forms a protective layer. The varnish on an organic basis until recently was considered the most persistent and durable, but thanks to modern technologies, other species have no less strength.

Parquet oil coating

The oil coating is made of natural materials using additional, artificial ingredients. Such a coating penetrates deep into the pores of the tree and increases strength and wear resistance.

Wax cover for parquet

The wax coating is an excellent addition to the oil coating, applied by the top layer on the parquet board. Such a coating consists mainly of linseed oil and bee wax. Such a floor will be reliably protected from moisture penetration, but resistance to various mechanical damage will be low.

After drying, the parquet can have a different degree of shine. Lacques are divided into several types: glossy, semi -gloss or matte.

Care

To avoid damage to your gender, you must definitely use different funds for parquet care. You can protect the varnish film of parquet using parquet oil or wax polishes, which form an additional protective layer and repel all moisture. The care of the parquet board is carried out depending on the paintwork.

Parquet care with varnish coating

If the varnish coating has been applied recently, it is not recommended to do wet cleaning until the varnish becomes strong enough. The lacquer coating should be updated at least once every 5-8 years, depending on the quality, the old varnish is removed by grinding, then it follows the repeated coating. Otherwise, the varnish can be erased, and in the places where this happened, the darkening of the tree will inevitably begin. This defect will be almost impossible to remove, even by applying grinding.

The floor cleaning itself can be done using a vacuum cleaner or a wet rag. A rag with which you will wipe the floor should be slightly wet so as not to leave excess water on the floor surface. If a large amount of water accidentally hit the parquet, then you need to wipe it as soon as possible and dry this place.

Parquet care with oil coating

Parquet care for oil is no different from varnished, but it is best to clean with the help of special means for caring for a parquet board. Such chemical care products are sold at any household at a low price. The update of the protective layer is done once or twice a year, while you do not need to do preliminary grinding, just do cleaning.

Laminated parquet care

Laminated parquet does not tolerate greater humidity, the movement of furniture and rough cleaning agents, such as powder. Dry cleaning with a minimum amount of moisture is best suited, it is also acceptable to use special sprays. You can remove large and greasy spots from this coating by applying laundry soap.

Parquet cleaning chemicals

For everyday cleaning, you can use special means of caring for a parquet board - cliners. Sold in the form of concentrates or aerosols. These products do not harm the paintwork and do not leave divorces.

You can protect the parquet from damage using polishes. Wax and soluble polishes are used for the parquet, and a parquet covered with oil composition is best treated with matte or glossy polishes.

Grinding

Over time, no matter how careful care is, the upper layer of the parquet will be worn out and deformed to update it, you can not do without grinding the parquet. Before starting work, it is necessary to decide on the type of grinding machine. They come in several types - angular, flat -grinding and drum. The corner grinding machine is used in inaccessible places, for example, near the battery or skirting boards, on stairs and in the corners. Platter -grinding machines are used for parquet, which was installed by a floating way. Bashing type grinding machines have a large weight, about 100 kilograms, so they are not recommended for a three -layer parquet board. Grinding paper is suitable with 40 granularity, and after it 60-100. At the end, an abrasive net is used. If you only want to remove the upper layer of varnish, then for this purpose, paper with granularity from 60 to 120 is suitable. The flooring should be grinded according to the diagonal of the room, and at the final stage, using small grinding paper, you can move parallel to the laying line of the parquet board.

Grinding using a drum type machine is carried out by smooth movement from one wall to the wall opposite. This machine is processed the main surface of the floor, and then a grinding machine of the corner type enters the operation, which process the rest of the hard -to -reach area of \u200b\u200bthe floor. The finish grinding is carried out with a flat -grinding machine using paper with a granularity of 120.

The final stage of this work is the flooring of the parquet with a paintwork. First, the polished surface is covered with primer varnish. The number of layers of the main varnish should not exceed 3, while each layer should be as thin as possible.
