Nevertheless, delaying the replacement of an unreliable floor, we can really wait for this neglected event, and then we will have to throw everything and engage in the replacement of the floors, investing in this business all the means that are at our disposal. And so it turns out that when the conversation comes to the repair of the floor in the apartment, the price is most often the most limiting factor. With insufficient financing, the most correct ideas have a bad habit of being performed in the style of hi or even hell with him. Therefore, it is better to estimate your capabilities in advance and not to wave to the fact that it will not be able to.

And this does not mean that the old tortured floors just need to be covered with linoleum - with this approach, a new floor covering will serve you very, very shortly. So, before laying down one of the new products, it is necessary to strengthen and align the old floor as much as possible, which will become the basis for a more fashionable coating. And you can do this in two ways:

• replace or repair the wooden floors themselves
• remove old woods and pour a normal concrete floor

Repair of a wooden floor in an apartment

Repair of a wooden floor is made if you are sure that the base is in order and you only need to strengthen slightly shaken floorboards.

The scheme for putting a wooden floor in order is simple:

• we clean the floorboards from paint or varnish - it is best to go through a grinding machine, then all the stratums are easily removed to the tree itself
• we examine the boards - rotten, dry, in general, unreliable need to be removed to be replaced with new and strong
• we check the fixation of the floorboards to the lags - if the boards were nailed with nails, you need to score the nails deeper (so that the hat is plunged into the board about 5 millimeters by 5) and additionally put them on screws, which are much more reliable than nails
• we cover small cracks with special putty on wood, but we cover with it pits, into which nails and screws are deepened
• the slots are more than half a centimeter in the width by the chopic, planting it on the same putty
• we wipe the dignified places with sandpaper or again pass through the floor with a grinding machine
• remove garbage and dust - first with a vacuum cleaner or brush, then with a damp cloth
• we apply paint or varnish on the updated floor, or put any other floor covering you selected

But in the case when more than half of the halts are suitable only for the release, it is easier to make a complete replacement.

Moreover, today the process of laying a wooden floor has become more reliable. Modern boards made of massive wood are made with a spoon - a groove on one side of the boards and a comb on the other handle the boards with each other tightly and without cracks, especially if such styling is strengthened with gluing the joints. The only minus of the complete replacement of wooden floors is in price. But such floors of all called wooden are most durable and environmentally friendly.

However, if you still want something more modern (say, flooring from a parquet board, laminate, linoleum or floor tiles), it is better to completely remove the old wooden floor and make a reliable concrete base.

Repair of a concrete floor in an apartment

After making sure that you can’t help with ordinary cosmetic repairs, you need to start with the base itself - a concrete screed. The most important thing in this work will be the ability to make a perfectly smooth and even floor, since any modern flooring withstand the warranty life only under such conditions. Thank God, in our time, an even and strong concrete floor can be made in several ways:

• pour the usual cement-sand mixture
• make the filling with ready -made dry cement mixtures (apartments)
• place gypsum fiber sheets - the so -called dry screed

A more detailed description of these options for creating a concrete floor will be later, and now a couple of words about preparation.

Preliminary preparation for screed by any of the proposed methods is the same:

• completely remove the old flooring, remove the boards and lags of the wooden floor
• clean all underground space from garbage and other unnecessary additions, opening the old screed or floor slab, if there were no screeds
• lay waterproofing (a plastic film is usually used, the stripes of which are laid with a gap of 10-15 cm)
• glue a damper tape along the walls, compensating for the expansion-storage of screed when the temperature regime changes and increases the reliability of the concrete floor
• lay the guide beacons (for those who make concrete floor with their own hands, this operation is required!)
• if necessary (in the case of dry screed or too large changes in the base in height), fill the platform with expanded clay, expanded clay sand or other dry mixture recommended by the manufacturer of the mixture for the concrete floor
• to strengthen the concrete floor when pouring cement mixtures, reinforcement can be used - laying a metal grid

The next step will be just pouring or laying the screed itself.

As everyone knows, the simplest cement-sand mixture is used to fill the floors for a long time and has proven itself very well (it is especially attractive in price). In principle, its minuses include only the duration of the screed (at least 28 days) and the filling process itself is dirty and hard work.

With ready -made mixtures, the situation is better: there are reliable mixtures whose solidification time is from 1 to 10 days, and the fill itself is easier, since the mixture is diluted to a half -liquid state, in which it is much easier to align the surface of the future sex. In addition, there are also self -leveling mixtures, where this process is facilitated to the maximum. But with an increase in the convenience of use, prices also increase, although no one needs to explain this.
