How to choose glue for parquet

The word parquet is French in its origin and translated from Parque means a floor of small unpainted planks, which can be stacked in different ways in geometric shapes. Parquetins can stick to the base during styling, sometimes they practice the floating method. It is no secret to anyone, that the entire laying procedure, its quality, and therefore the long -term operation of the flooring, will depend on the quality of the glue composition for the parquet. Let's talk today how to choose glue for parquet.

  3. The purpose of the parquet glue

Purqueting glue requirements

In order to put a parquet floor in the room, it is necessary to choose the right glue for styling. A good adhesive composition for parquet is a guarantee of long -term operation of the flooring. It is important to take into account that poor-quality, incorrectly selected, or even fake glues for parquet, as well as overdue substances, which are usually sold at a discount of 20-40%, will certainly show their worst properties, later, of course, but they will show. And then you can no longer fix anything.

When buying glue for parquet, you should pay special attention to the requirements that are presented to the composition:

  1. Parquet glue should be durable and capable of holding the coating in its place for a long time and for a long time, since the life of a massive board reaches a hundred years.
  2. A good parquet glue after hardening should have residual elasticity, while allowing wood on your floor under the influence of temperature in the room and moisture to expand and dry, which is completely natural for a tree.
  3. High -quality glue for parquet, whether it is an adhesive for the Bostik or Artelite parquet, should not shrink over time, which can cause a creak when parquet strips weaken when glue sags under them.
  4. Parquet adhesive compounds for laying parquet coating should not contain a lot of water in their composition, as is often the case when buying cheap and low -quality composition, or fakes. Excess moisture when absorbed into the parquet provokes the swelling and deformation of the coating, which subsequently also leads to a creak. And if you use such glue for water -based parquet for exotic wood, which contain oils, parquet simply will not be able to stick well.
  5. The glue for parquet should be safe, do not contain solvents and other harmful substances. A sign of the presence of solvents is a pungent odor when installing parquet. The compounds on solvents contain substances that, after use, will evaporate and poison the air in the room for a long time, even when you already stop smelling.

Types of glue for parquet

To date, 3 types of glue are allocated for laying a parquet board.

Dispersion glue

The dispersion glue is the most environmentally friendly material and is especially popular among European consumers. At the heart of such a mixture is water. Similarly contributes to the fact that in the process of solving the mixture, pairs are distinguished that do not have toxicity, and therefore do not pose any danger to human health and can be used in any residential premises. Water -based compounds are characterized by a lack of pungent odor, which makes them applying them in residential premises.

The range of water-dispersion adhesive compounds is quite large, but they all differ, depending on the percentage of water in the water. The larger the water content, the lower the price of the glue. Of the advantages of dispersed glue for parquet, Tarbikol Bostik can allocate a fairly low cost compared to other types of glue. It is used, as a rule, for gluing with moisture -resistant plywood.

It is recommended to use water -based adhesives when arranging oak parquet, because a tree of this species is highly resistant to the harmful effects of moisture and is very durable. Water-dispersion glue is also well suited for laying piece parquet, which has a small size.

It should be remembered that the wood is exposed to deformation with the slightest contact with water, sometimes this even leads to decay. Unlike oak, a parquet floor of fruit varieties of wood (apple, cherry, pear), maple, ash is less durable in parameter moisture resistance, the boards can be deformed, especially if the thickness of the parquet floor is minimal, and dispersed glue has 36% of the water in its composition. In such a situation, it is preferable to use the parquet adhesive of another group. Dispersion adhesives are not suitable for laying such capricious breeds such as beech and alder.

Glue on solvents

Gloring compounds based on solvents are the most commonly used glues for the parquet floor. Such substances in their composition do not contain water, so they are suitable for any tree species. This group of mixtures from water-dispersion is favorably distinguished by the high strength of the coupling.

The adhesive on solvents can in open condition for a long time until 15 minutes, which simplifies the work on laying the parquet and allows you to correct the parquet planks, which has already been laid, for some time due to large fluidity. Full hardening time usually reaches 5 days. Therefore, such products are recommended to be used when laying the floor of wood varieties, which are subjected to swelling and other irreversible changes, which occur under the influence of moisture.

When using rubber glue for solvent parquet, remember that such substances are explosive and easily ignited. Therefore, this type of material is strictly forbidden to use in the vicinity of such sources of ignition. During installation work, you should refrain from smoking in the room where they are produced.

Two -component reactive glue

Two -component or reactive glue is the most durable of existing parquet adhesives to date. Help is made as a result of chemical reactions after adding a hardener to a mixture, because this is why the composition is called two -component. The jet does not contain water and solvents. The completely two -component adhesive composition hardens around the day.

The process of hardening glue for parquet occurs 2 times faster than when using glue based on an organic solvent. The composition is 3 times stronger than usual glue. Due to its versatility, such glue can be used on any basis with a tree, faner, concrete.

Reactive glue can be used to glue any parquet coating, regardless of the type of its wood and sizes of the planks, even the most expensive artistic parquet. Two -component jet glue for Uzin will be the best solution for a massive board. The board, which is already opened with varnish, is recommended to be laid only on such parquet glue.

The only drawback of reactive glue is its fairly high price, but it justifies itself to a quite excellent quality and long life. Also remember that when evaporating, the mixture until the final solidification will secrete harmful chemicals. Therefore, reactive adhesives should work only in protective masks or respirators. The substance after hardening for health is not dangerous.

The purpose of the parquet glue

You already know that glues for parquet are water-dispersing, reactive and based on solvents. However, when choosing a composition, you need to take into account the type, characteristics and sizes of the material that you will glue the parquet of oak, ash, fruit and exotic breeds, a massive board, type of base for coating and its properties. So which glue is better for parquet?

Gluing plywood to screed without fastening with self -tapping screws

In this situation, it is extremely necessary that the adhesive has the highest adhesion to wood and cement screed. In addition, it is required that the glue extinguishes various stresses between the screed and the plywood, that is, the mixture should be highly elastic.

Gluing plywood to screed using self -tapping screws

Unlike the previous situation, the plywood in this case is not just glued to the base, but also attached to the dowel-samores in addition, due to which the requirements for the glue are slightly reduced. Due to the self -tapping screws, plywood changes will be almost neutralized, so you can use glue for water -based Bostik, which costs much less polyurethane counterparts.

Gluing piece parquet without covering (ash, oak) to the faner

A piece of stable wood patching, for example, oak or ash, with parquet sizes up to 420 millimeters in length and 70 millimeters in width, you can glue with water dispersion glue. The moisture contained in it is not able to absorb into the board of small sizes of stable breeds to such an extent that the geometric shapes of this dick are changed. Consider the fact that the dispersion glue that contains water will dry slower than polyurethane.

Gluing parquet with factory coating (ash, oak) to the faner

If you need to glue the piece parquet on which the coating has already been applied, it is better to use one -component or two -component polyurethane glue for the artelite parquet to avoid even the smallest of the warning possibility, which will have deplorable consequences with respect to the flooring on the finished coating will be visible defects .

Gluing any parquet, on the bottom of the varnished

In this situation, two points should be taken into account. Glue should have a maximum level of resistance to vertical separation. Before starting work, it is necessary to conduct a test for such a gap, because there may be a removal of varnish, which is unacceptable.

Gluing piece parquet without coating (fruit and exotic rocks, maple, beech) to the faner

Some wooden breeds, for example, maple, beech, cherry, pear and almost all exotic breeds are considered unstable, that is, a parquet coating from them will sensitively respond to any changes in temperature and moist regime, and the wood in this case will be borne. In order to avoid this situation, when gluing such a parquet, you should use the Bona parquet, which does not contain water.

Gluing glued massive boards and parquet boards to the faner

Parquet, which consists of several layers, as a rule, is a large -format boards with the presence of a key system. Therefore, in a parquet glue, which is used when working with such a floor covering, water should not be present. Otherwise, otherwise long and wide boards will be crushed. Glue for puff parquet and parquet board must be elastic, that is, such that it allows you to release parquet with the need to release, but the force that tries to pull the parquet to the faner should simultaneously arise.

Gluing a massive board, which has a width of up to 120 millimeters, to the faner

To glue the massive boards, the dispersion water glue will not help, since this composition will certainly water the wood, provoking its warping. The glue should be highly elastic and strength to reduce the voltage between the plywood and the massive board, which occur during periods of fluctuations in air humidity. This is especially true in the spring, when the heating season ends, and the humidity in the room rises.

Gluing to the faner of a massive board more than 120 millimeters

With the flooring of a massive board, which has a large width, it is not the elasticity of the adhesive composition, but its resistance to exposure to vertical separation, because the stresses that occur between the large -format massive board and plywood will be much higher than in the situation with less by size with boards. The best properties in this regard are single -component adhesives for Ansercoll Parquet based on high -quality synthetic resin.

Gluing coatings to a fragile cement screed, except for a massive board, with a width of 120 millimeters

If there is a need for the flooring of a wooden coating directly on the screed, and not too strong, it is necessary that the parquet glue has the highest indicators of adhesion to different surfaces. That is, the highest grip indicators with a plane at the molecular level are required, which can completely prevent the likelihood of a rupture in the adhesive.

Gluing coatings to a strong cement screed, except for a massive board, with a width of 120 millimeters

Compared to the previous situation, in this case it is said about the installation of a parquet bar on a solid screed. The best, but also expensive, gluing method, is considered the flooring of the parquet coating through a special layer - multimol. This elastic woven material is used to relieve voltage between parquet and screed. Remember that the glue consumption will be 2 times higher, because first you need to glue the multimoline, and then glue the parquet to multimolism. An alternative and more economical option is the use of two -component adhesive glue for ADESIV, which has a high level of strength.

Gluing a massive board, with a width of 120 millimeters, to a strong cement screed

This situation in practice is quite rare, but there is a way out of this situation. The glue for the parquet should in this situation meet the two requirements: great elasticity, that is, the adhesive should be polyurethane, as well as the maximum possible resistance to separation of parquet strips in the vertical direction. The use of a large -format massive board directly on the cement screed has its own advantages and disadvantages, so find out in each individual, will improve the multimol characteristics of a massive board or not.

Gluing industrial parquet (coating from thin and narrow lamellas)

The parquet floor of industrial type is a fairly new and relevant solution, intended primarily for buildings with great cross -country ability. This parquet coating is a narrow vertical lamella. Numerous tests show good characteristics of such a coating when gluing with two -component parquet glue.

Thus, the choice of glue for the parquet coating depends on many criteria. If you decide to equip the parquet in your home, then remember that it should be of high quality, durable and elastic. In each specific situation, it is worth selecting the corresponding composition of the dispersed, two -component or based on the solvent.

Good afternoon! I have been a very long time

Good afternoon! I chose glue for parquet for a very long time, I wanted it not to be expensive (the area for laying was 470 m2) and at the same time high quality! Found! It is called Viscol glue, it is just beginning to appear in Russia and the prices are not very high! In general, good luck in choosing!
