Before ordering the windows from the manufacturer, it is necessary to measure and calculations. To begin with, we remove the old glazing, if it was, dismantle frames and fasteners. We remove everything up to the base of the parapet and the floor slab on top (ceiling).

We measure the distance from the parapet to the ceiling, then from the wall to the wall. Check the horizontal parapet using a level. This is very important if there is a skew even 1.5 cm, the window frame will not fit. We measure the tilt of the edge of the plate relative to the horizon. In principle, this information is enough to order windows. But firms do not trust their own measurements on their own and still send their specialist, which is also true. With his professional eye, he will overwhelm the situation, pay attention to the type of house, the structure and material of the parapet, measure the angles of the blockage of the walls and take into account other factors. It is possible that the verdict will be disappointing. For example, the parapet will not withstand plastic windows, and you need to dismantle it and equip a new brick. Preparatory work

If the strength of the parapet is enough to withstand the plastic windows, then we close the gap in the parapet (if any) using a galvanized sheet. We measure the size of the gap, cut off a piece of galvanizing, start it outside the parapet under the railing and fix it with screws. It will not be possible to cope with this task alone, it is simply inconvenient, so you have to ask a friend’s help.

If you decided to make a new parapet, then we dismantle the old one. And put the new one in one brick on a cement-sand mortar. We try to make the level strictly horizontal, without changes. This will greatly facilitate the task of installing window frames.

From the corner or metal strip with a cross section of 5 mm, we make the frame for attaching the frame along the perimeter of the parapet. We fasten with screws to the parapet or dowels if its design is too durable.

Installation of plastic windows

The windows were brought to us and brought into the apartment. Now we take out the double -glazed window from the frames. This is necessary for two reasons: to fix the frames to the parapet, the frame with a double -glazed window is very heavy (30 kg). It is not necessary to remove the double-glazed window from the opening wings, as they will be fixed in a completely different way. We put the double -glazed windows on a pre -cleaned floor, resting on the wall. On the floor there should not be construction debris or pebbles, glass may crumble.

We tilt the sash to ourselves, raise it by 5 cm and take it out of the lower loop.

We fasten the standing profile to the bottom of the frame. To do this, we turn over a rather light frame, we take the profile (it comes with a plastic bar with windows), insert into the grooves that will be visible on the frame and fixed with a kiyanka in the grooves of the frame.

Fasten plate

Install mounts for frames. We make an indent for 15 cm from each edge of the frame, fix the fixing plate, drive with a hammer into special grooves of the frame, unfold the protruding part by 90 to fix to the concrete walls. We use silver screws and a drill with a 30 mm drill.
After installing the mounts, we invite friends, relatives or neighbors to help. The frame is quite large, weighty, raising and installing it in the window opening, you can accidentally let it out of the hands and drop it or even worse falls out yourself. Therefore, together, and better the three of us set the frame in the opening, align in level. We fix the fixing plates on the screws, use a winning drill with a diameter of 6 mm. An important point: we do not drive screws, but screw it up.
We collect frames in a single whole using 6 mm screws. Be sure to check the horizontal and vertical level. Where necessary, insert spacer chopic and lining.
We fix the frames to the parapet, walls and ceiling with anchors, deepening them into concrete/brick by 60 mm.
We fill up all the cracks outside the room (we dramat). We mount the visor.
We insert double -glazed windows into the frames.
We hang the rotary-oxide wings on the hinges.
We fasten the folding mechanism on the frame and the sash.
We check the performance of the sample and tightness of the fit. If everything is fine, then we fix the tide outside, and the windowsill is from the inside. On this, glazing work is completed.

With your own hands, glazing of balconies can significantly save the budget. But to perform such responsible work on your own only if there is experience with the tool and specific building skills.
