Choosing material for a new pipeline

Ceramic pipes for sewage

The very first pipeline in the world was made of ceramics. Times are going, changing, and this material still remains in demand. And this is not surprising, because ceramic pipes are not exposed to corrosion, resistant to aggressive environments, withstand sharp temperature changes and strong hydraulic pressure. In addition, they have a very high strength coefficient, capable of carrying mechanical loads.

Due to all these characteristics, ceramic pipes are considered durable. In the Internet resources, you can find information that this sewage system serves up to 50 years to its owner. Ceramic pipes are used most often in industries, in private sectors they are very rare. What is the matter of this is the matter of such an unpopularity among residents of houses and apartments?

Firstly, the main factor is cost. Ceramic pipes are not cheap option, not everyone can allow. And secondly, great weight. Due to their severity, it will be very difficult to establish such a sewer system on its own. The first type is the best, has the highest indicators of heat resistance and strength. It is worth noting that the cost of polyethylene pipes is respectable to quality. In second place is polypropylene. According to some characteristics, it even exceeds polyethylene, but the shape of the pipes and increased rigidity complicate both their transportation and installation. Buying the last type of polymer is irrational. It's all about low quality products. The PVC pipeline will last literally 2-3 years, after which it will again need to replace.

Metal pipeline

How is sewer pipes connect?

There are several types of connection of sewer pipes:

• detachable;
• adhesive;
• welding.

In addition to them, you will need a tee, which is useful during the installation of branches in the sewage and cross, the purpose of which is to joint the pipeline. Professional repairmen when installing pipes in couplings use a small trick. The edges of special parts are lubricated with silicone grease. This allows you to facilitate the connection process.

The second option implies the acquisition of special glue. Its basis is methylochloride. This method is very good for people who have taken up the installation of sewage with their own hands. In addition, from additional purchases, only the glue and the tool itself will require, with which the liquid is applied. But there is a small minus. There are volatile substances in glue. Therefore, the period of time between the application of the liquid and the connection of the pipes should be no more than one and a half minutes.

The method with welding is the most difficult, but also the most reliable. The main condition for this option is the same sections, material and diameter of the pipes. For such a connection, a welding machine will be required. The ends of the pipes are placed in clamps on both sides at the same time. After that, they begin to affect the high temperature, which leads to member of the sections. Next, with the help of pressure, a welded edge is formed. The seam cools for 6-9 minutes. At the end of the cooling, the resulting pipe can be used.

Preparation for the replacement process

Before starting work, you will need to draw up a sewage circuit, which subsequently will help to correctly install the pipeline. Since we replace the sewer, and not install the new one, you just need to sketch the location of the old system. Keep in mind that not only the pipes themselves should be located on the diagram, but all of the bathroom.

Of the tools, we will need: a perforator, a grinder, a mounting gun for applying a sealant, a hammer, a chisel, a screwdriver and a divorce key.

Also, during the preparatory process, it is necessary to take all safety measures, namely, clean the room in which repair work will be carried out and protect protective clothes.

Dismantling the old cast -iron sewer system

For those living on the top floor, this stage of work can be started immediately. In the event that there are neighbors over you, the first thing you need to agree with them about the non -use of the sewage system for some time. Since the repair of the pipeline is carried out exclusively in one apartment, you will need to cut out only part of the riser you belong. This stage is very responsible. Since the task is not easy, it is necessary to make every effort and all your accuracy in order not to create damage on the pipes going to the neighbors. Since the old rusty sewage system is no longer needed to cut it out in any convenient place. But before starting this, we disconnect all the bathroom devices so as not to damage them. We disassemble the sewer system into small areas and proceed to direct dismantling.

Using a grinder, we make 2 tiles in the middle of the riser. The distance between them should be about 16 cm. The tiles should have a small angle of inclination, thanks to which a piece of the pipe will be easily cut out. In the same way, divide the rest of the pipes into pieces, cut and eliminate. Make sure that the remains of the pipeline do not remain in the sewer.

Installation of a new sewer riser

The first process that needs to be done to install the sewage system is to install a riser. We connect the tee and a piece of the neighboring pipe that sticks out from the lower edge. With different diameters of these two parts, a transition cuff is used. Next, having determined the length of the pipes, adjust them to the desired dimensions. We produce the so -called fitting of all the riser elements. To perform it, connect the pipe and compensator. We install the chopped design in the low of the tee. After insert the top of the pipe into the end of the cast -iron pipe sticking out of the ceiling. The riser, by the way, must be tried without the use of gaskets.

We proceed to the marking of all possible mounts. Using the resulting scheme, we fix the upper and lower clamps. After you need to disassemble the fitting and put in their places, only with rubber inserts.

To facilitate the stage of the rack, we recommend that you grease the ends of the sewer pipes with liquid soap before it.

Internal wiring rules

To carry out the internal wiring of the sewer in the house, you need to start from the riser using the previously compiled scheme. After that, you will need to attach all the bathroom devices. In order not to create an internal voltage, and the sewer does not break through, in addition to hard, floating mount, they use the work. What is the difference between them? With the help of hard mounting, the pipe remains in its place and does not shift. But in this case, hydraulic pressure can be too high, and so that this does not happen, it is necessary to create the ability to mix the pipe but only longitudinally. For this purpose, floating fasteners are used.

It is also important to prevent the pipeline leaks. To do this, during installation, we have the bells towards the movement of wastewater. And the angle of inclination of the sewage system is performed in the direction of the riser.
