The relevance of insulation of the ceiling with sawdust in a private house

Although the construction market involves the presence of a huge number of modern thermal insulation materials, their cost is quite high. To ensure high -quality insulation of the ceiling, you need to spend a lot of money. Therefore, with the aim of saving, but at the same time, sawdust is used to obtain a qualitatively insulated ceiling.

Among the advantages of the use of sawdust on the ceiling is highlighted:

  • the affordable cost of the material, in addition, the option of purchasing sawdust in woodworking factories or enterprises is possible for almost nothing;
  • The versatility of use, sawdust is suitable for insulation of various kinds of ceilings and have an almost unlimited sphere of use;
  • The ease of installation of this insulation does not imply the use of additional fasteners or brackets, which will fix the insulation on the surface;
  • The duration of the operation of sawdust used as a heater is checked for years, in relation to modern materials that appeared not so long ago.

Selection of sawdust for warming the ceiling

There are several varieties of sawdust, which differ primarily in size. Select the material:

  • fine -fractional;
  • medium -fractional;
  • Big fraction.

It is better to give preference to the second option, since small sawdusts are quite difficult to work, and large ones are not able to provide high -quality thermal insulation.

If possible, select the sawdust that formed in the process of cutting carpentry in drying, they do not need additional preparation and are practically not subject to decay.

When buying sawdusts that formed from rounds with natural humidity, they must be dried. To do this, put them on a horizontal surface, for example, under a canopy for a week. If the weather was wet for these days, then the drying time should be increased.

In relation to the type of wood from which sawdust is made, it is better to give preference to coniferous breeds of trees. Since it is they who are characterized by a high content of resin, which prevents the development of all kinds of insects in sawdust.

In the process of insulation of the bath, larch will be a great option. Such sawdust should be mixed with ashes, in order to avoid their decay. After the purchase of sawdust, from 6 to 12 months should pass. Thus, the sugar level, which is a provocateur of rot, will decrease, and the risk of decay will decrease.

Follow the absence of extraneous impurities and various kinds of garbage in sawdust. If it is available, sawdust should be sift through a sieve. Choose large particles of garbage yourself.

Requirements for sawdust used in the warming of the ceiling:

  • Exposure from six months to one year;
  • lack of moisture;
  • Lack of mold;
  • The middle fraction.

How to properly warm the ceiling with sawdust: preparation of the solution

There are a huge number of compositions that are suitable for insulation of the ceiling, most often their main components are sawdust, lime, cement, sand, clay.

We offer a universal recipe for years. To prepare it, you will need:

  • dried sawdust, in relation to all components, should be ten times more;
  • one part of the lime;
  • how much and cement;
  • As an antiseptic, it is necessary to use three tablespoons of drill or copper sulfate;
  • The amount of water depends on the desired consistency of the solution and on the moisture of sawdust, the average value is from 5 to 10 parts.

The preparation procedure for this composition is as follows:

1. Mix previously cooked cement with lime.

2. Pour the sawdust into clean dishes in the form of an old bath.

3. To prepare the solution, it is preferable to use a concrete mixer, so the mixture will turn out to be homogeneous, and the adhesion between the components improve significantly.

4. First, sawdust is covered in a concrete mixer, then a mixture of lime with cement.

5. Water is poured into a bucket, into which three tablespoons of an antiseptic are poured. Keep in mind that this material is quite toxic, so in the process of work you should use gloves and mask.

6. Gradually pour water into previously mixed dry components. Follow his consistency. To check the solution, it is enough to take a small part of it and make a lump out of it. When the palms are unclenched, he must keep in shape. In addition, excess moisture should not be present in it.

Recommendations for the warming of the ceiling with sawdust with clay

This option is most acceptable in the process of warming the ceiling, which is located in the bath. At the same time, the use of copper sulfate in this case is unacceptable, since in the process of exposure to high temperature it begins to secrete substances harmful to human health.

To prepare such a composition, you will need:

  • sawdust;
  • clay;
  • lime;
  • water.

The ratio of the component in order is: ten to five to one to 8-15 parts of water.

At the beginning of the work, clay should be done. It needs to be soaked with two parts of water and left for a while until it completely gets wet.

All other components are mixed with each other, the mixture should become cream -shaped, there should not be lumps in it. Sprinking, after the purchase, you need to withstand for at least half a year. Since there is no antiseptic in the solution, a decrease in sugar in them will avoid decay.

The resulting solution is mixed with clay. Keep in mind that the sawdust is added gradually, while the mixture should mix thoroughly. The finished solution should have viscosity and density.

To check its quality, use an ordinary stick, when installing it in the tank in which the mixture is located, it must hold on to it. In the presence of a too liquid solution, you should wait about 24 hours before its thickening. At the same time, you should not cover it with a lid so as not to prevent the evaporation of moisture.

There is an option of exactly the same recipe in which clay is replaced by gypsum. With its help, it is also possible to insulate the bathhouse, however, its preparation should be carried out exclusively portioned, due to the high speed of the gypsum.

Technology for warming the ceiling of the house with sawdust

Warming the ceiling with sawdust is possible only on its upper part. To carry out this process, you will need to purchase wooden boards with which the beam floors are sewn. The thickness of the board should be about 30 mm. The most economical option will be the use of standard strict boards previously dried from moisture.

Although, according to the recommendations of experts, a better way is the use of a dodgy board. To fix the boards on the beams, nails or screws are used. Keep in mind that the mass used as a heater has a fairly large weight, so the fixation of the boards should be carried out in a special way.

Fasteners are driven into the boards under the slope, and each time it needs to be changed in the opposite direction. The length of the nails should be about 10 cm, and the screws are 5 cm.

Next, all boards and beams are treated using an antiseptic solution. It will help prevent the exposure of wood to decay and the development of mold or fungus on it.

A vapor barrier film based on polyvinyl chloride is installed on top of the boards. The option of using roofing material is possible. The film is installed with an overlap of 11-14 cm, to glue the butt plots, bitumen or tape is used. Please note that the end sections of the film should go beyond the surface of the walls by 100-150 mm. In the presence of voids, in the side areas, mounting foam is used to get rid of them. The film is fixed on the side sections of the walls with a stapler.

Next, sawdust is laid out, which are well leveled and compacted. The embankment should be so height to reach the ceiling. Further, it is recommended to sprinkle a layer of sawdust with asles, which has good antiseptic characteristics and helps to prevent their decay.

After that, the sawdust should lie in their place for about two, three weeks, so that excess moisture from them evaporates. Further, they are covered with vapor barrier material. It is he who will help prevent the contact of the insulation with moisture. To fix the vapor barrier on the beams, a stapler is used. Thus, you get a design in the form of an envelope, from below, on the sides from the top of which vapor barrier is installed, and there are sawdust inside.

Next, the floor beams are extensively increased, and black and finished flooring is equipped. A metal grid is flooring on top of the beams, on top of which a concrete screed is mounted.

Features of insulation of the ceiling with sawdust in the bath

The technology of insulation of the bath is slightly different from the insulation of ordinary residential premises. First of all, this is due to the high humidity that is present in this room. In order to carry out the ceiling, wide boards are used. To insulate the chimney pipe, it should be sheathed with a sheet of steel or asbestos. A vapor barrier is installed in the attic, keep in mind that the material should be stable before exposure to high temperature, roofing material is not suitable for these purposes, since there is a risk of sunbathing or softening. The option with a film made of polyvinyl chloride is also not recommended to be used.

The vapor barrier is also laid with an overlap of 12-13 cm, on the walls the material is bent up to 20 cm. Next, the mixture is laid, which contains clay and sawdust, which are well leveled and compacted. If it is planned to insulate a summer -type bath, then it is enough to lay the sawdust with a layer of 5 cm, otherwise, the thickness of the layer increases to 15 cm.

Next, you should wait until the solution dries, in the presence of small cracks that formed after drying, they should be treated using the same solution. According to the recommendations of experts, adding stone salt to the finished mixture for insulation, helps to prevent it from cracking. For two buckets of clay, it will take about 15-20 tablespoons of salt.

The solution will completely dry somewhere in a month, provided that the work is carried out in the warm season. To improve the antiseptic properties of the solution, on top it is sprinkled with a thin layer of lime. After solidifying thermal insulation material, it is covered with the same vapor barrier forming an envelope. If the attic premises of the bath is planned to be used as a place for relaxation or pantry, then the flooring is laid on the vapor barrier.

When using gypsum -based insulation, it is laid in portions, thin layers, since gypsum has a high drying rate. The use of this type of insulation is possible both in straight areas and on inclined surfaces. Keep in mind that in the presence of electric wires in the attic, they should be isolated in a special corrugation.

Sprinking ceiling: insulation options

So that rodents do not start in sawdust, in order to avoid the appearance of a fire, lime should be present in the solution. To protect thermal insulation material from mold, it is recommended to add an antiseptic such as boric acid or copper sulfate.

It is possible to insulate the ceiling with sawdust with cement, for this, it will be necessary to accurately determine the layer of insulation laid on the ceiling. The quality of thermal insulation depends on the correct calculation of the layer. The more severe the climate of the terrain and the higher the heat loss of the building, the thicker the layer of cement-opial solution is required.

With year -round use of the building, the minimum layer thickness should be 25 cm.

One part of the cement will require about ten parts of sawdust and one part of the lime. Next, the antiseptic is diluted with water and finished ingredients are watered with this mixture.

For insulation of the ceiling in the house with sawdust, you will need to perform a number of actions:

  • The material is spread over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe ceiling in the form of cardboard or parcham;
  • Next, a uniform distribution of a previously prepared composition is made;
  • A good compact will allow you to get rid of air accumulation in the mixture.

After two weeks, the solution becomes durable, when walking it should crunch, but at the same time not to bend.

Warming the ceiling with sawdust with lime and clay is practically the same. Sawdles, in this case, should be well dried and high -quality. To prepare the solution, first you need to pour clay with water. Next, it is mixed to a homogeneous consistency. Gradually, sawdust is added to the clay until the mixture acquires the average density. On the ceiling, permamine or a film fixed with a stapler is spread. The minimum thickness of the layer applied to the surface is 50 mm. After a thorough tamping of the solution, it is left for drying, at least 3 days. All formed cracks are covered with the same mixture. Complete drying of the material is carried out after one month.

Another option is to warm the ceiling with sawdust with gypsum. In this case, the ratio of ingredients is: 85 % to 10 % to 5 %, sawdust: lime: gypsum. First, sawdust should be treated with an antiseptic, and dry well. Next, thorough mixing of all the above components is thoroughly. At the end, water is added, with which the consistency of the composition is regulated. The thickness of this layer should be about 250 mm. A good compact should save the material from shrinkage and air. All work should be carried out very quickly, as gypsum grabs very quickly.
