Why is the floor alignment under linoleum performed?

In order to fulfill linoleum alignment, you can use several methods: mounting special heat -insulating plates or the use of wood lags. This also gives an additional advantage - thermal insulation is also carried out at the same time. The procedure will bring the maximum effect only if the procedure is performed taking into account all the norms and requirements. The alignment process, as well as building materials for it, are selected taking into account the design of the building, climate and some other factors.

The first method, thanks to which the leveling of the floor is implemented under linoleum is the name of the “floating surface”, since the screed is practically not related to the walls. The joint is formed using elastic gaskets, which are installed between the floor and walls. If you use this method, then it is necessary to make the base as strong as possible.

A more acceptable option is a large -scale concrete screed or compacted soil. If underground waters are close enough to the surface, then a waterproofing layer is laid, which is polymeric materials. They are laid along the entire perimeter of the floor and fixed against the walls.

There should be no joints during styling. The material with which the floor is insulated should have good density, as well as high strength regarding compression. One of the acceptable materials, which meets all requirements, is extradited polystyrene foam. It can be used to increase the level of thermal insulation. But it is better not to use mineral wool with increased humidity, since it cannot be dried, which means that the thermal insulation layer will have to be completely changed.
