The room with the finish, where vinyl wallpapers with a beautiful large pattern, are also used, also looks amazing. Varieties of wallpaper

The abundance in the construction market is striking in its variety of imported and domestic wallpaper, which are offered in all versions:

  • the whole range of shades, including black;
  • glossy, matte and combined;
  • smooth or with a voluminous pattern;
  • from paper or on the basis of non -woven;
  • for walls or ceiling;
  • from natural materials and synthetic.

Each type of wallpaper involves its technology and glue for applying to a wall or ceiling. There are multilayer wallpapers that have a double base and 2-3 layers of the drawing, the upper volumetric. Most often, the base is paper or non -woven, but there are options, and you should figure out what the wallpaper subgroups exist.

1. Paper wallpapers are the most affordable in cost, therefore, most often used for budget or urgent repair. Often, wallpaper with a geometric pattern or a large rapport is often produced periodically repeating fragments. But they are not suitable for rooms with high humidity and where pollution is possible. Paper wallpaper is distinguished as:

  • simeplex (in 1 layer of paper);
  • duplex (two -layer).

Duplex wallpapers are less stretched when getting wet and are not deformed when gluing. The main advantages of paper wallpapers are used environmentally friendly materials, the walls breathe, and the walls with duplex wallpaper are even warmer than with single -layer paper.

2. Vinyl wallpaper is also on a paper basis, but the surface layer is moisture -resistant vinyl. The drawing is loose, so it is not used without the base, but along with the paper it turns out a very practical finishing material in thick light rolls. Features of the picture allow you to hide minor defects and curvature of surfaces. Due to this property, vinyl wallpapers with a pattern are also used to glue uneven ceilings, especially with a square rapport. Vinyl wallpapers need a well -prepared basis for gluing. The joints of the panels and angles must be done using technology, then a single continuous surface is obtained. Vinyl wallpapers are divided into:

  • washing (for baths, hallway or kitchen);
  • with a voluminous pattern or foamed vinyl (for the living room or bedroom);
  • flat or silkography (universal).

3. Wovelin wallpaper are simple and with vinyl coating. They form a fluffy fringed edge to break, which differs from paper. As you know, non -woven fabric used to compact hard parts when sewing clothes. The non -woven base for wallpaper is compressed fabric and paper fibers. When walling walls, non -woven wallpaper with a pattern do not stretch, they do not need to be wetted with glue, it is applied only to the walls. The technology is attractive to those who do not like to mess with the wetting of paper segments. The non-woven rolls are convenient for the repair of walls in rooms covering 2 floors, for example, around the stairs or in the loft apartments. Such wallpapers are not afraid of wall shrinkage and are suitable for painting.

4. Textile wallpaper of the elite of finishing building materials, they are exquisite and expensive. Often, wallpaper with a large pattern is offered:

  • monophonic, where glossy and matte textures are combined;
  • colored with beautiful patterns.

The silky rolls of textile wallpaper like curtains imitate the palace boudoir covered with silk. For these manufacturing, natural and artificial fibers of flax, cotton, viscose, artificial silk are used. The cost of the roll depends on the quality of the fibers. The finish gives luxury and shine in the interior, especially if the wallpaper is golden and mother -of -pearl. They are capricious in departure and require only dry cleaning or processing by a vacuum cleaner at minimum power. The most expensive varieties are covered with a special water -repellent or protective wax composition.

5. Velor wallpapers do not belong to textile varieties, and they are more like velvet paper for applications. Fine -fiber spraying using special technology is applied to a non -woven or paper base, receiving a velvety pattern. When Velura's villi is applied to patterned cool paths, they remain only in these places, forming a velor pattern on a smooth base. Specialists are usually engaged in pasting walls with such wallpaper.

6. Wallpaper for painting do not have a large color pattern, but require accuracy when gluing walls, especially at the seams. In the future, they are covered with a layer of paint, and they are needed when there should be a patterned texture on the walls, according to the designer’s idea. Usually these are white or light wallpapers that can be painted several times, are available on the basis of:

  • papers;
  • nonsense;
  • synthetic film;
  • fiberglass.

7. Glass wallpaper variety of the previous type of finishing materials, manufactured from very durable fiberglass threads resembling a canvas. They are more suitable for repairing public buildings, since they do not support combustion in case of fire. The glass wallpaper has no high decorative properties, look like even painted walls. They are covered with naked concrete panels in public institutions, using as a heat -insulating base for painting.

8. Wallpaper with a fragmented image are known as murals or art wallpaper. This is a quality print on a paper basis, where a quality photo with maximum resolution or artist drawing is taken as a basis. Wallpaper with a 3D effect or with the perspective, where they depict: are the most impressive:

  • optical illusions;
  • streets of ancient European cities;
  • pagodes or Asian temples;
  • large -free landscapes with a three -dimensional image, for example, a branch, the middle plan and the remote outlines of the mountains to the horizon.

Most often, such wallpapers are applied only to 1 wall, less often at the junction, and the panorama on a rounded wall without corners looks very impressive. Previously, they were produced in the form of squares or rectangular sheets, and the murals, upon close consideration, contained many seams, and the drawing did not coincide everywhere. Today they are sold in rolls on a matte paper or non -woven basis, glued using the same technology. The matte surface eliminates the globs, so they are most realistic, and it is important to monitor the combination of the picture.

The main difficulties in pasting wallpaper with a large pattern

Wallpaper gluing with a pattern is associated with the so -called fitting of the ornament. Classic wallpapers suggest rapport or frequency of repeating fragments on the roll, which each time has to be combined. It varies in size, and a step that has to be observed when pasting each subsequent segment is obtained.

The step of the wallpaper involves trimming, they are of different sizes, up to 1 meter. This step is sometimes indicated on the label to calculate the additional consumption. You have to buy 1-2, or even 3 rolls in addition to the living room or hall in an apartment of a typical layout, since many waste is obtained. Of course, they can be attached by the window, above the door and on the walls for large furniture. But this does not cancel the needs for additional whole segments of the roll to fit the picture. The smaller the repeating ornament has a rapport, the less waste suggest wallpaper with a vertical pattern.

Tip: No matter how you save at the initial stage, the trimming is inevitable, so it is better to immediately set the drawing so that a whole fragment begins at the ceiling. Next, the pattern is adjusted in a checkerboard pattern.

The drawing is best selected to combine the picture in 2-3 rolls at the same time, this will reduce waste. Make sure when buying to ensure that all the rolls are from one batch, otherwise the shade may differ. If the wallpaper has been bought for a long time, and the difference was discovered, but it is impossible to change, you will have to glue them on different walls.

The walls in one room may vary slightly in height, which will be noticeable when gluing. At the same time, the segments of the same length will give excess, and the other side is not enough. Therefore, it is better to add allowance 2-5 cm at once, and then cut off the excess from the baseboard. Ready -made marked and chopped wallpapers, taking into account the fitting of rapport, when applied to the wall, are gradually shifted until the picture is completely coincided.

It is better to start gluing the first roll not from the vertical of the corner, but from the mark drawn on the wall along the plumb line. This will exclude a large error if there are vertically deviations. Tilt the wet panels, adjusting the rapport on the walls with defects, is very inconvenient, and the deviation will continue even more.

Sometimes the walls have curvatures and bulges that are visually invisible, but the wallpaper will show it. With a mismatch, excess wallpaper is obtained, which wrinkles, or the lack of a panel diverge. Therefore, excess is cut with scissors where they wrinkle, and when pasting, you will have to make a flasher, like tucks on clothes. And on convex tubules of the wall or in uneven corners at wallpaper with a small pattern it is better to immediately make a small allowance, so that at the bottom or at the top, glue overlap. This is not noticeable on the continuous surface of the walls, but it will be possible to hide the defect.

Two rolls of wallpapers are spread on the floor before cutting, having rewritten a couple of meters to combine the drawing and consider all its features well. This will help determine the rapport and further evaluate the approximate volume of trimming. Sometimes it’s not too late to buy 1-2 rolls from the same batch so as not to risk their lack. Too large pattern requires wallpaper consumption about one and a half times more than the area of \u200b\u200bthe walls.

Preparing the surface of the walls before pasting wallpaper

If in general terms it is clear how to glue wallpaper with a pattern, it is time to prepare the walls all the old wallpapers remove. To do this, you will need to soak the previous layer and remove all the paper with a spatula. Sometimes in some sections of the walls this is difficult, especially when PVA glue was used. In this case, the seams of the overlap that will appear under new wallpaper are necessarily removed, the rest are left.

New even walls are covered with a primer, and if there are small defects (holes) on concrete slabs, they are filled with gypsum or finish putty. The primer dries for about a day, and you should not rush to glue the wallpaper, especially elite and expensive on a wet surface. The painted walls are necessarily cleaned and washed with a solution of detergent and wiped with a clean dry rag. Remember that the color of the base can distort the shade of wallpaper.

Attention: a contrasting pattern or dark panels appear under the wallpaper, so you have to paint them with white paint, otherwise all the work will be in vain!

If the wall in the room was plastered before painting the wallpaper, it is necessarily polished with a fine -grained skin. When the dust settles, a thorough cleaning is carried out in the room, after which the wall is primed. All finishing materials of the finish processing for pasting wallpaper are better to choose on water -based, for better adhesion.

Carried paper wallpaper is supposed to be impregnated with glue, which is applied with a wide brush. They are turned over with the back side (face to the floor), so it will not be visible where the top or them. It is important to immediately lay them correctly, for example, on top of the window, since the wet panels are very inconvenient to turn over. Sometimes they even confuse the location of a small pattern, and you have to tear off the flower down and turn over, be careful!

Wallpaper with a pattern is difficult to glue one, since a thorough fit is required. Be sure to invite assistants and stock up on the step -up, usually it works who is younger and easier. Ideally, someone alone is engaged in the application of glue, the second is engaged in cutting rolls, taking into account the fit of the drawing, and two with a stepladder directly glue the wall.

Cooking glue

Once there was no special glue, and the wallpaper (trellis) was glued with the grandmother's method cooked a fabric-based fabric. This is sometimes done today, for simple paper wallpaper. But modern wallpaper involves applying to the walls using special glue, the brand of which is indicated in the instructions. Simple paper wallpaper is undemanding any glue produced for wallpaper.

Attention: glue can be of different consistency, and if the proportions are not observed, the canvases will be too thick too thick, and soak it very liquid up to the rupture of thin paper wallpaper.

The cuts of the roll are smeared with glue from the middle to the edges and left to soak for 5 minutes, thick longer. Usually, while one roll is applied to the wall, the second is wet in a four -folded form glue to the glue. There are possible options that are usually described in the instructions for wallpaper and glue. Not all types of wallpapers require glue, as described in the section on their varieties.

The advice of experts: if you need to smear both surfaces, then it is better to apply the composition strictly on the wallpaper, and dilute more liquid on the walls.

The walls before applying wallpaper are mandatory, excess is removed. The wallpaper is supposed to be glued to the bust or an overlap this is indicated in the instructions. Thick duplex wallpapers glue the one, laying a special base on the seams, and the protruding glue is carefully removed.

Recommendations of specialists

From the corner at the wall with the window, we mark the vertical from the ladder along the plumb line, according to which we glue the first segment of the wallpaper. Next, each subsequent panel is located nearby, combining the pattern. It is most convenient when one works at the top of the ceiling, aligning the panels, and the other assistant combines the pattern at the junction.

The overlap wallpaper always starts from the window so that the seams do not give shadows. When they begin to work, it is not fundamentally important, but it is more convenient to start working from a place where it is clearly visible that it is easier to combine the pattern, then it is more familiar to work.

Glue for wallpaper is soaked in warm water in advance, stirring a dry mixture well so that there are no lumps. Typically, after half an hour, the solution is completely ready for use.

The floor on which glue is on the wallpaper should be perfectly clean and dry, otherwise all flaws will be visible on the wallpaper. After each application of the liquid composition, everything that came to the floor is carefully wiped first with a damp rag, then dry.

By smearing cutting panels, it is important to ensure that all the edges are well smeared. If smears are missed in the center of the segments, the wallpaper will be crumpled, but this is easy to eliminate by moisturizing the missed area. If a dry edge remains somewhere, then it can already be according to the wall of pasting the wall, but do not rivet until it is sustained, withstand pause for 10 minutes.

The missed panel should not be left for a long time, especially with liquid glue on thin paper wallpapers, they will begin to break in work. When the segments are transferred to the wall, the lower edge is bent, it is slightly stuck so as not to drag the floor.

It is difficult to move the strip printed to the wall when adjusting the pattern, so the combination of the pattern is done by weight at the ceiling and at the seam of the docking panels. When the pattern coincided, the wallpaper is completely talked to the wall and leveled from the center to the sides, a roller or dry rag, removing excess glue along the edges. When the wallpaper dries, you can’t do a draft, otherwise they will delight them.
