What are laminated doors?

Nowadays, more and more consumers give preference to laminated doors due to their low price. The film, which they are covered, perfectly protects them from exposure to chemicals and high humidity. With a direct hit on them, the doors are just wipe with a dry rag. Unlike a door from an array of wood, laminated, are not deformed over time. They have little weight, and care for them is possible even with abrasive cleaning agents.

Laminet film is artificial material, which is produced in a very wide color palette. This facilitates the selection of a harmonious combination of doors with a flooring, wall color and furniture.

Thanks to modern high -tech equipment, it became possible to produce high -quality laminated doors capable of competing with other types of interior doors. And the drawing on the film can quite accurately imitate various species of wood.

The laminated door is a frame of pine bars. The space is filled with cell pressed cardboard. All together creates a solid and reliable design. MDF plates are used on both sides as the frame cladding, and laminate is attached over them.

The laminate film is made using different technologies. As a result, a budget option is obtained in the form of melamine paper or a more expensive dual -rustic laminine of the highest quality. Thanks to the lightness of all materials, interior laminated doors made with a complex pattern are low.

The choice of laminated doors is especially relevant if you need to install several exactly the same in color in one room. And unlike natural wood, the laminated door throughout the entire operation will not change its shade.

Regardless of the manufacturer, laminated MDF doors belong to the economy class. This is due to inexpensive materials from which they are also manufactured by unprofitable production technology.

More about the types of films:

  • Paper base. The cheapest and most unreliable option, the thickness of the material is only 0.2 mm.
  • Melamin film. In fact, this is the same paper, but saturated with melamine resin, so that the coating turns out to be more dense and more resembles plastic properties.
  • Double -omon laminatine. This is the most durable and thick laminate that is used in the production of doors. Its thickness is approximately 0.5-0.7 mm.
  • Fiberglass film. The most expensive coating of all existing ones. Therefore, the price of such a door will be significantly higher. Therefore, manufacturers rarely use it to finish the door.

The laminate perfectly imitates any materials. Most often, wood, but metal, plant motifs or stone can also. The surface of the laminated door is absolutely smooth or has a pattern (even silk -screen printing and manual painting).

Production of laminated doors

The name of the door was obtained thanks to the material of the protective layer. To date, their quality is practically not inferior to doors from a massive of natural wood, and in some characteristics they even surpass them.

Production technology is simple and allows them to produce them in large quantities and in a wide range. Often when laminated doors are decorated with glass inserts or other materials.

The design of laminated doors consists of an array or pine bars. In the first case, the frame is immediately covered with MDF or FEP plates. And in the manufacture of a cheaper hollow door, the space inside the frame is filled with light cell cardboard. And MDF is already attached from above. A decorative laminate is glued over the facing sheets. Both the technological process and the materials themselves allow you to create doors of low cost.

But thanks to the strength of the laminate, the doors are unpaid mechanical damage and high humidity. Therefore, do not save much and buy the cheapest doors with a film on a paper basis.

In the production of laminated doors, synthetic resins are used, but the doors themselves are environmentally friendly products. Their use is allowed even in medical and children's institutions.

How to care for laminated doors

Despite all the unpretentiousness of leaving, for many years, laminated doors will be able to only with proper care. If possible, they must be protected from mechanical and temperature influences.

It is possible to avoid the need to make efforts to clean the laminated surface periodically processing it with a polish. It is best if the wax is present in such a tool. He will give the door a beautiful gloss and smooth out the microzarapins. For doors installed in rooms with normal humidity, it is enough to carry out such processing twice a year.

It is recommended to remove the door from loops once a year to process mechanical parts and clean hard -to -reach places.

It is allowed to clean the laminated surface with abrasive agents only with emergency. If you do this regularly, then the surface may be damaged.

When caring for laminated doors, it is worth avoiding the chemical products of unintentional for them. Although the laminate is resistant to their effects, it is possible that the coating will enter into a chemical reaction with the components of the cleaning composition and begin to collapse.

An ideal means for purifying laminated interior doors is a solution of water and alcohol in a ratio of 9: 1. The surface is wiped with this composition, after which it is wiped dry with a dry rag. It is enough to do this once a year.

When wiping the doors, special attention should be paid to the lower part of the door leaf, platbands and door box. It is these parts, with wet cleaning, that are most affected by the negative effects of water. It is worth noting here that it is much better if the laminated door has the PVC edge.

In addition to alcohol, a soap solution or a diluted dishwashing agent is perfect. The surface of the door is also wiped to them, after which it is wiped dry.

If chips or cracks appear on the laminated door, they are masked with a wax pencil. It is heated, wax is applied to the damaged surface and polished with a soft tissue. It will not be possible to completely remove the defect in this way, but it will become less noticeable.

When, as a result of mechanical or temperature, the laminate is exfoliated or damaged, you should not try to fix it with your own hands. At home, this will not work out qualitatively, it is better to contact professionals where all problems on special equipment will be removed.

How to choose a high -quality laminated door

But no matter how much effort is spent on the door care, the low -quality product will still begin to present unpleasant surprises soon. To protect your choice, even before buying you need to mean what to pay attention to.

  • Most inexpensive doors are made using frame-chip technology with a cellular filling of internal space. This is not a drawback at all, the doors data have good strength and sound insulation. Of course, monolithic doors are stronger, but they are much more expensive. The determining criterion for the strength of such a door is the thickness of the MDF and the number of sot filler. There is often no possibility to see the door in the section, but still, its reliability can be determined. It is enough just to raise it, the harder, the more material was spent on its manufacture, and the stronger it is.

  • Now it is necessary to determine the quality of the decorative coating of the door. The laminated surface should be absolutely smooth and even, do not have roughness, irregularities, etc. The thickness of the laminate is only a few millimeters, but it is it that protects the door from all external factors.
  • High -quality coating imitates not only the drawing of wood, but also repeats its texture. It must be matte. This gives the doors a noble appearance and a greater similarity with a natural tree, but such a coating is more resistant to ultraviolet, high humidity, is the most durable and better cleaned of pollution. But a cheap surface on a paper basis is easy to distinguish, it is glossy and has a shine.
  • A general inspection of the door is also carried out. First, attention is drawn to the weakest place of laminated interior doors - the side edges. In poor -quality models, they quickly exfoliate. On the entire length of the edge, the edge should be perfectly even without burrs and zazubin. If there are decorative inserts in the door, they are also carefully examined.
  • All fixing elements of the philanic should be fixed firmly. In the manufacture on poor equipment, the edges of the graduates will look torn.

Thus, you can quite accurately determine the quality of laminated doors in the store.

Producers of laminated doors

The leading domestic manufacturers of high -quality laminated doors include factories Rostra, Commonwealth, Bekar, Odintsovo, good doors, optima.

But more recently, only Errebi Porte, Treviso Porte and Vera Porta (Italy) plants were engaged in the production of laminated doors. Therefore, Italian laminated doors still mean the quality of the highest level.

Other world brands are in Germany, this is Lebo Turen, Westag & Getalit. They are fully focused on the manufacture of laminated doors.

Doors laminated PVC

These are the most popular economy class doors. They are perfect for use in residential and office premises. Thanks to the imitation of valuable wood, such as oak, nut, wenge and others, laminated PVC doors are a good combination of a beautiful appearance and price.

Advantages:

  • they are most resistant to high humidity, so they are recommended to install in bathrooms, kitchens, etc.;
  • this is a strong whole coating that does not have separate lateral edges;
  • the coating is easily washed, and there are no traces of the fingers on it;
  • the door is able to withstand even strong blows.

White laminated doors with glass inserts look especially beautiful. And if desired, they can be repainted independently in any color. To do this, the surface is initially primed, and painted with alkyd paint or acrylic enamel (for furniture or universal).
